It's no surprise that Sean Connery carries the weight of his years so well.  The smooth Scottish actor was a bodybuilder as a young man-prep, he'd hoped, for a career as a professional soccer player. Sports were not to be his arena, though. Stumbling into acting in London between stints as a beefcake model, Connery played bit parts until he landed the role which would cement his career, that of suave agent 007 in the James Bond series.  His first of these famous flicks was Dr. No, followed by Goldfinger, You Only Live Twice and Diamonds are Forever. Temporarily tiring of Bond's babefest, Connery switched to character roles in the '80s, playing a tough Irish cop in The Untouchables (an Oscar-winning role) and Indiana Jones's archaeologist pop in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Back for more action in The Hunt for Red October and The Rock, Connery is proving in the '90s (and well into his '60s) that he's as dashing as ever!
