Astrology / History Ancient Greek the centuries of Assyrian and Persian dominance. From Persian times ninety astronomical tablets have survived for every one astrological tablet, but in the last century B.C. there are twenty astrological tablets for every one astronomical tablet. This concentration on astrology was to produce the greater technical sophistication required for houses and directions, and was to lead to the differentiation of the different branches of astrology, natal, mundane, horary and electional. Of the astrologers who accomplished this advance we know almost nothing, and astrology appears to arise fully developed by the time of Claudius Ptolemy in the days of Imperial Rome, about 150 A.D.  1  2  3  4  5  6  7  8  9  |
